Finally I went ahead and bought what is probably the most Iconic dial colour of all of the versions of this successful line for Seiko. I do prefer the cyclops on the date of this version, as this is by no means a large watch, but just big enough for effect!! Although the purists seem to prefer the previous "SARB" green dial models which were/are superb, if you want the cyclops and might I suggest perhaps some facets having been improved, then that seems to come with model changes, and improvements in production; then this is worth buying. Out of all the dials this green dial version on this "compass" equipped model is pretty much perfect, other colours seem insipid, I did have the "ghost" dial white version, and then like any Ghost it was unseen!!! And the black dial with what looks like pieces of tin for indices whilst still a great watch, does not come close to the green. Of course it is all personal choice, but IMO this watch is 10/10.

Just as advertised. Stainless steel, well polished. Sapphire crystal with cyclops. The Green dial with gold Arabic numerals. With rotating internal bezel which has the directions of a compass, requires some getting use to if you want to try it outdoors. More of a fun project rather than any practical use. It’s the legacy of the original alpinist re introduced through the prospex line. The crowns are smooth. The crown at 3 o’clock is a screwed down crown. The back is as interesting as the dial. You get to witness the working of the the watch. For me the strap is just fine. May change it later but for now let’s just enjoy it. Delivery was super fast by DHL.

Got this as a gift for my partner; he just LOVES it. The color on the face is subtle, yet striking! Truly a quality timepiece, he has been wearing it everyday and is very happy.
He prefers a metal bracelet over leather; he could NOT find one on this (Seiko) site! Why is this so? He ended up buying a bracelet on another (non-Seiko) site. It looks great with this watch, though he would have prefered buying one that was lisenced Seiko.
