April 15, 2024I started considering the flux runner in my continuing search for a running shoe that would alleviate the issues I have with my feet, which are wide at the toe box but normal/narrow at the heel. Id often find shoes that fit the width of my toes comfortably but slip in the heel, so I thought I'd give the flux runners a try.
The toe box is very roomy, though maybe not quite where my foot is the widest. That said, the stretchy material makes it comfortable for my toes and snug at the heel for a good running experience.
Zero drop is new to me and it definitely took a few runs to get used to. I took my first few runs with them easy but after a few workouts was able to get used to them. I've found with a zero drop that a solid mid foot strike is easier to achieve once I got use to my foot feeling like it was unusually flexed. Since I've gotten used to them I've been able to comfortably put in about 25-30 miles a week.
For sizing, I usually wear street shoes in. 9.5, but running shoes in a 10 or 10.5. on the guidance of the site I purchased a 9.5, but if I had to do it over id go for a 10. My right foot, which is closer to a 10 street shoe size definitely hits the front of the shoe when I run in excess of 4 of 5 miles.
The hardest thing to get used to with these shoes is the abrupt roll through on the toe. At first it felt like I might tip forward completely as my stride rolled through to my forefoot, but I have gradually gotten used to it. The abrupt transition to the toe initially worried me that I would have issue doing bootcamp style workouts in these but the rest of the sole is so flat that I actually found lifint workouts easier in these than in my old running shoes.
My general preference is for a running shoe with a moderate level of cushioning that feels fairly close to the ground and for that these are perfect. I think for runners who prefer a lot of cushioning or runners who like a completely minimal shoe these may not work out, but for those who want happy medium I think these are great.
Nice technology/Difficult to return

October 4, 2024I recently got these Flux shoes, Adapt Runner. I love everything about low drop shoes, really liked the OG SKECHERs GoRuns. I've always tried different shoes and applaud the effort. I was really excited to give these a try.
I do go sockless, and one of the things that attracted me to the Adapt Runner is how the manufacture encourages sockless.
My general impression is it is a well built shoe with interesting features. The Adapt sole felt nice although I initially noticed the shoe gave me a vague feeling of pronation, that is rolling or crashing inward. I am the rather rare supinator and figured this would dissipate with use.
The flexible upper is unique and I appreciated it although getting the shoe on and off can be a little
struggle...maybe make the last few inches open in more of a V as there are laces to tighten up the heel lock.
Eventually I started to recognize that with no sort of arch support, even from the insole, that these would give me a problem. As I have aged up, currently 61 YO, I am not running like I used to, mainly 1 to 3 miles around 8 to 9 minute pace as I try to get back in shape.
And after 8 runs decide to request a return/refund but was denied due to the shoes "not in like new condition". Of course any shoe run in even once or twice will not be in like new condition and any shoe run in sockless will be even less so.
Usually returns have never been a problem with other shoes sold through larger merchants, so I was surprised at the denied return. During the e-mail declining a return, I was encouraged to resell the shoes on the internet. That was kinda strange, I just figured there might have been other return request's made and this was one way of politely saying no.
In this internet/online shopping age, there is great latitude for the consumer to find unique and exciting new products, shoes or otherwise. For the business this is a great way to reach out to a wider audience. But in both cases, we the consumer can't see, feel, smell and try stuff in a store.
My only suggestion to anyone interested in FLUX, wear socks in your initial trial runs to reduce stains, run on a local well built track to reduce any sign of wear, and decide quick if your going to keep this, or any shoe.
.
So far super good!

March 31, 2024I've had these shoes for about 3 weeks now and have worn them about once or twice a week. I usually just wear them for simple outings like errands or super short walks about the neighborhood with my dog. Today, I tested their ability to keep my feet comfortable by going on a long outdoor walk with my dog around town. I'm literally writing this as I am taking a sitting break to sip some water lol.
I have been walking around outside for about 2 hours walking on all surfaces from cement, grass, and gravel. The shoes are flexible but not too flexible and what I mean by that is that the shoe is able to bend with you foot without losing structure and stability. Because of this, I wouldn't say this shoe is as stable as some folks need their shoes to be. The bumpy sole that acts as a foot massager, works great! The first time I wore these shoes it definitely felt very weird and felt a little uncomfortable but after about 30 mins or hour of wearing, my foot was fine and comfortable. Today, on this 2 hour outdoor walk with my dog, I definitely feel my feet ready to be laid up at home but these shoes have helped my feet not feel like they are on fire or super swollen either. I love love love the foot shaped design, especially the wide toe box! I'm trying to transition my shoe wear wardrobe to foot shaped friendly shoes while also maintaining cushion and some stability which if you know anything about the barefoot shoe world, it's the complete opposite of what's out there on the market. These give that "barefoot shoe" shape many barefoot shoes have while having flexibility, comfortable cushion, and stability. Thank you Flux!!
Im usually a size 10 but decided to get a 10.5 to give my feet some room to swell from being on them a long time. I have a bit of a narrow mid foot and a little higher than average arch. I also tend to under pronate. Hope my review is helpful!
Overall, I give these shoes a 10/10 and I'm happy I invested in a pair.
Love, love love!

March 15, 2024These are the best shoes I’ve ever owned in terms of both style and comfort! They are stretchy and easy to put on but also supportive. I got these in size M9 using the measurement guide. They fit pretty much perfectly, although I can just barely feel the front of the shoe with my toes at times, so the next pair (yes, there will be a next pair!) I will size up to M9.5.
I discovered these shoes from a Google search for shoes that help with plantar fasciitis. I have been struggling with PF for a while and was hesitant to try these out since they are zero drop and I thought I needed more arch support, but boy was I wrong! I have been wearing these pretty much exclusively since I received them, no transition period needed, and I have felt significantly less pain in my feet from PF, compared to some very cushy running shoes that I bought and returned in a week. Now I’m not saying these will help everyone with PF, but I would recommend trying them out to see if they help you like they helped me. I still have a little pain here and there but I don’t get those shooting pains in my heels anymore.
I don’t use these for running, just for the gym and everyday activities. This is my first pair of all white shoes and I tried to keep them clean as long as possible but it just wasn’t happening lol. I will caution anyone that wears blue jeans, since the jeans will stain the upper part of the shoe. I don’t think this is a defect of the shoe since blue jeans are notorious for staining lighter colored fabrics.
I think that’s all I have to say about these shoes. I know it’s a long review but hopefully it will help anyone else that’s on the fence about these. Like I said, I will definitely be ordering another pair in another color!
