The first time I ordered this perfume, I absolutely loved it! It smelled amazing, it stayed strong all day, and I'd get so many compliments! My coworkers who would rave about it would say they could still smell me end of the day even tho I put it on once >7 hours ago! (I will say tho they did have abnormally sensitive noses lol)
Once I ran out I placed a second order for a replacement bottle, and although the scent smells the same, unfortunately it's not nearly as strong and the staying power is almost non-existent. It'll smell for a few minutes, then quickly fade. I've changed nothing about how I apply the perfume, nor how much, all I did was just get a new bottle. I even asked the coworkers who used to rave about if if they could smell me (I know, weird question) and they said they couldn't smell anything at all.
I'm very disappointed that the either the quality declined as the scent has gotten more popular (diluting it??), or if their quality control is just that bad to where there would be such a drastic difference between lots/batches.
Due to this I returned the bottle, and I'm going to try to order it one more time to see if I get a good batch/lot (I love it so much), but if the smell is once again super light and doesn't stay I guess I'll have to find a new go-to scent :(

Something is definitely wrong Dossier. I’ve bought this perfume for years and dossier swears they didn’t change the formula but I’ve done a deep dive on reviews and see that many people are having the same issue as me! I received a bottle as a gift back in June and it smells like pure rubbing alcohol. It was absolutely not the same scent I bought last year and the year before . I thought maybe I got a bad batch. So I purchased a new bottle at Walmart. SAME THING. Pure alcohol and any scent left over lasts 2 minutes and it’s gone. I used to get so many compliments on this perfume, people would track me down in a store to ask what I’m wearing… and these last two bottles I have bought smell nothing like the ambery saffron I purchased in years past and zero compliments. I’m assuming they changed the quality as soon as it got popular and are lying about it. I was tempted to buy another bottle directly from dossier to see if there’s a chance that somehow the two I already have are both bad batches… but I just read a bunch of reviews saying they had the same exact issue so I can’t waste another 50 bucks on a bottle of rubbing alcohol.

Amber Saffron is one of my top three favorite perfumes, and this is my third time purchasing it. I was ecstatic to see the new 100 mL bottles—finally, Dossier is offering their best-selling fragrances in larger sizes! I purchased the 100 mL bottle during the Black Friday Sale this year (2024), which made it even more exciting.
However, I’ve noticed some major differences with the 100 mL bottle compared to the 50 mL. When you first spray the perfume, there’s a noticeable smell of alcohol, and within five minutes, the scent fades almost completely. This is such a contrast to the 50 mL bottle, which had incredible longevity and depth. I’m not sure if the formula has changed or if corners were cut to fill the larger bottles, but I’m highly disappointed.
I was so excited to have my favorite fragrance in a bigger bottle, but now I can’t enjoy it the way I used to. I hope Dossier addresses this issue because Amber Saffron deserves the same quality and performance in every size.

I blindly ordered this based off the popularity and scent notes. This was my first time ordering from dossier or ever ordering perfume online. It took about a week to arrive. I was really excited for this based on the reviews & popularity but was so let down! It smells like a hollister or Abercrombie store. I think it’s definitely more of a masculine scent. It does have a sweeter essence to it, but still too masculine for me. I sent it back and ordered 3 other perfumes to try instead. I do appreciate the return policy. I will say, I’m extremely sensitive to perfumes and scents and haven’t worn perfume in years, and this stuff has not given me one headache since I’ve had it on! I really wanted a “clean” company to try and this company really seems to do just that. I’m convinced I was getting headaches due to the chemicals in other perfumes. I’m disappointed this perfume wasn’t for me, but I’m confident I’ll find one that is. I’m excited to finally be able to wear perfume without headaches again! Can’t wait for my other perfumes to get here!!
